Workshop Strengthens Indigenous Women's Organization in the Limão Verde Village, in Aquidauana
Last Saturday, November 1, 2025, a workshop was held in the village of Limão Verde, in Aquidauana (MS), focused on establishing and strengthening community associations.

The event brought together Indigenous women who are in the process of formally establishing their own association, an initiative that is expected to receive its CNPJ number later this week.
During the meeting, questions were addressed regarding applications for public tenders, access to congressional appropriations, and understanding laws and public policies aimed at traditional communities. The event also served to foster dialogue on collective management and the economic autonomy of the village’s women.
Facilitator Anderson Lima explained the differences between cooperatives and associations, highlighting the rights, duties, and benefits of each organizational model. According to the participants, the workshop was very productive and sparked the interest of other local leaders.
Some participants expressed their intention to stay in touch with the organizing team to receive guidance and support in formalizing new associations in other villages in the region that are also seeking institutional regularization and strengthening.
This initiative reinforces the commitment to the autonomy, leadership, and participation of Indigenous women in local development and community management processes.
