Aflora Project Provides Guidance to Farmers in Ribas
A workshop at the Novo Modelo Settlement discussed the differences between an association and a cooperative
On December 17, 2025, the Aflora Project held a workshop on community organizations and cooperatives with residents of the Novo Modelo Settlement in Ribas do Rio Pardo (MS). The workshop was led by facilitator Ana Triches in the morning at the home of one of the settlement’s leaders.
The meeting brought together residents who grow vegetables and were seeking to understand which organizational model would be best suited to the group’s activities: an association or a cooperative.
During the workshop, Ana Triches addressed questions about the differences between the two structures and the organizational options available to rural workers.
This initiative is part of the Aflora Project, implemented by the Oscip Flor e Espinho with funds from a parliamentary amendment by Federal Representative Camila Jara (PT-MS), to strengthen the organization of groups and communities in Mato Grosso do Sul.
