Aflora Project Provides Guidance to an Agroforestry Collective in Sidrolândia

Workshop Addressed Associative and Cooperative Movements with Family Farm Workers

The Aflora Project held a workshop on associative and cooperative organizations with members of the Enxame Agroecológico Collective at the Geraldo Garcia Settlement in Sidrolândia (MS). The activity was led by Anderson Lima, president of the Oscip Flor e Espinho, and Nair Gavilan.

The Enxame Agroecológico Collective connects peasant families settled through agrarian reform with consumers of agroecological foods. The collective focuses on family farming and agroforestry, with diversified production of vegetables and greens, and coordinates a consumer network to market the produce.

The workshop aimed to provide guidance to members on associative organizations, cooperatives, drafting bylaws, and formalizing the organization. The activity was designed for those leading the collective who seek to understand how to structure their operations.

According to Anderson Lima, the group sought guidance to understand its organizational situation and the procedures necessary to draft its own bylaws.

The Aflora Project is implemented by the Oscip Flor e Espinho, with funding from a parliamentary amendment by Federal Representative Camila Jara (PT-MS). The initiative has promoted guidance and training activities aimed at strengthening collectives and community organizations in various municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul.
